A Vision of Italian Neo-Retro Modernity
Bertone introduces the new Runabout — a contemporary interpretation of one of the brand’s most radical design studies, originally conceived in 1969. Presented as the first Bertone Classic, the new Runabout translates historic design intuition into a modern, sculptural car defined by purity, proportion, and performance emotion.
Its design is shaped by two essential gestures: a forward-leaning wedge line and a continuous horizontal beltline inspired by nautical forms. Together, they create a silhouette that is instantly readable: architectural, light, and unmistakably Bertone.

Offered in two configurations, Barchetta and Targa, the Runabout celebrates open-air driving and design freedom. The cabin follows the same philosophy of reduction and clarity, with a deck-inspired horizontal dashboard, exposed mechanical elements, and a sportscar-inspired digital tachometer acting as the central focal point.
Hand-built using coachbuilt methods, the Runabout features a lightweight chassis and a supercharged V6 paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, delivering an intimate and analogue driving experience. Production is strictly limited to 25 units, each individually configured through Bertone’s CMF Atelier.
The Runabout will make its world premiere at Rétromobile 2026, presented alongside the Bertone GB110, showcasing the dual soul of the brand — classic-driven design and contemporary performance.
