From piedmont to marbella.
Bertone took part in two European automotive events with the Runabout and GB110: Festival Car in Piedmont and the Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol in Marbella.
Festival Car brought Bertone back to its home territory, in a programme dedicated to automotive heritage, Italian design and the relationship between past and future.
In Marbella, Bertone joined an international field of leading hypercar manufacturers, design houses and coachbuilders, presenting its current range to collectors and invited guests.

TURIN, 14 October 2026
From Piedmont to Marbella, the latest appearances of the Bertone Runabout and GB110 have brought the marque into two different but complementary areas of contemporary automotive culture.
At the end of September, Bertone attended the fifth edition of Festival Car, held between Santena and Revigliasco Torinese. A few days later, the Runabout and GB110 travelled to Spain for the Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol 2026, a three-day gathering of collectors, owners and some of the most significant contemporary and historic automobiles.
For Bertone, the two events offered an opportunity to present its current cars in contexts closely connected to the marque: first in Piedmont, where Bertone’s history and Italian automotive design are deeply rooted, and then within an international collector environment in Marbella.
Back in Piedmont for Festival Car
Festival Car returned on 26 and 27 September with a two-day program beginning at Castello Cavour in Santena and continuing to Revigliasco Torinese.
Now part of the international FIVA calendar, the event brought together historic automobiles, contemporary design, leading Italian manufacturers and an international jury of automotive designers. It was a particularly relevant setting for Bertone.
Runabout represents the direct continuation of an idea first presented in Turin in 1969. Today, that concept has become a contemporary coachbuilt automobile, well received since its launch in February 2026. Alongside it, the GB110 represented the other side of the contemporary Bertone range: a modern hypercar developed around extreme performance and a more sculptural expression of the marque’s design language.

Having the two cars together showcased the design expression of Bertone today: different propositions, but both demonstrating how Bertone approaches its heritage: honoring it as the foundation for new cars.
That philosophy was particularly appropriate at Festival Car, an event whose own approach is centered on bringing important coachbuilding history back into the landscape that created it.

From Turin to Marbella
At the Concurso de Elegancia Costa del Sol, the Runabout and GB110 were presented to an international audience of collectors and invited guests across a three-day program in Marbella and the Costa del Sol.
The Exhibition Day at Higuerón Marbella Golf Resort brought together a particularly strong selection of automobiles, ranging from classics and one-offs to some of the latest hypercars.
In this landscape, the GB110 could be seen directly within the top tier of contemporary hypercars, while the Runabout offered another interpretation of exclusivity, rooted in the tradition of Italian coachbuilding.
On day two, at Ascari Circuit, both cars moved from display to action.
For the GB110, the circuit provided the natural environment to demonstrate the performance behind its dramatic proportions: a car conceived not only as an object of design, but as Bertone’s high-performance flagship.
For the Runabout, Ascari revealed its character through the combination of design, performance and lightness. Its 3.5-litre supercharged V6 and six-speed manual transmission place the emphasis on response, balance and mechanical connection: a car designed to create emotion and genuine driver involvement.

Seeing Runabout and GB110 together on circuit made the contrast between them even clearer. One expresses performance through power and intensity. The other through lightness, balance and analogue engagement. Both, however, begin with the same Bertone principle: sculptures in motion.
On day three, the setting shifted again to Gibraltar Airport, where a 1.2-kilometre runway offered a rare opportunity to experience both cars at full acceleration.
For the GB110, the flat-out run highlighted the scale of its performance and the relentless delivery of its twin-turbo V10. For the Runabout, the experience was different but equally revealing: lighter, more analogue and more intimate, with the supercharged V6 and manual transmission keeping the driver at the center of the experience.
From the technical sections of Ascari to the open runway of Gibraltar, the two cars showed two distinct interpretations of Bertone performance: one defined by outright intensity, the other by joyful driving involvement.
The day concluded with the gala evening, where the Runabout was also recognized among the winners of the Concours d’Elegance in the Restomod category.
Coming after the flat-out runs at Gibraltar Airport, the award added another dimension to the Runabout’s presence at Costa del Sol: a car appreciated for the way it performs, and for the way it reinterprets Bertone heritage through contemporary design, engineering and coachbuilding.

Putting Bertone in the right places
The two appearances are also part of a broader objective for Bertone: to bring its cars into the places where collectors, designers, manufacturers and enthusiasts are meeting today.
“Festival Car and Costa del Sol were two very different events, but both were right for Bertone,” said Matteo De Feudis, Head of Sales and Marketing at Bertone. “In Piedmont, we were surrounded by the history, community and design culture from which the marque comes. In Marbella, the Runabout and GB110 were among some of the most important contemporary cars, brands, and collectors in the world. For us, being present in both environments is important. We want people to experience Bertone as a living marque, with its heritage behind it and new cars in front of it.”
For the Runabout in particular, these appearances continue a year in which the project has progressively moved from its reveal and design story into coachbuilding, individual configuration, lifestyle, real-world driving, and now into concours participations: “Being selected as a finalist in the Restomod category was a particularly exciting moment for us. The Runabout has always been about finding the right balance between coachbuilding heritage and a fully contemporary driving experience, so to see that approach recognized by the jury was especially meaningful.”
